The alarm system is dynamic - it changes depending
on the upsets in the plant, the state of the measurement equipment,
and the configuration in the DCS.
The AlarmInspector module tracks changes to the alarm system,
and sends reports of common alarm system shortcomings to your
e-mail, printer, or web page on regularly scheduled intervals. |

The AlarmInspector checks for any of the following
problems:
- Chattering/High Frequency Alarms
- Redundant Alarms
- Ignored Alarms
- Stale Alarms
- Alarm Changes
And it can generate reports indicating compliance with the
EEMUA alarm specifications - a common industry benchmark that
indicates whether the operators are receiving too many alarms
to process effectively. |
